At Archive 1906, every item in our collection is carefully checked to ensure authenticity and quality. Buying designer pieces should feel effortless, and we make sure it does. We start by sourcing items only from trusted partners and private collections with a proven track record. From there, each piece goes through a thorough review by our team of experienced luxury specialists. Materials, stitching, hardware, labels, and brand-specific markers such as serial numbers, date stamps, or holograms are all examined.

Every item is independently verified by multiple experts before it enters our collection. This process ensures that what you buy is genuine, in excellent condition, and ready to be part of a modern wardrobe. Process

Sourcing Verification – Only acquire items from trusted suppliers, reputable boutiques, and verified private collections with a proven history of genuine pieces.
Initial Inspection – Examine the garment for obvious inconsistencies in brand styling, labels, and construction. Look for signs of wear, repair, or alteration.
Materials & Craftsmanship Review – Check fabrics, stitching, lining, hardware, and finishing details against brand standards. Authentic pieces reflect consistent quality and construction.
Brand Markers & Codes – Verify serial numbers, date stamps, holograms, and other brand-specific identifiers where applicable.
Expert Cross-Check – Multiple specialists independently review the item to confirm authenticity, condition, and overall integrity.
Final Approval & Cataloging – Once verified, the piece is documented, photographed, and added to the collection with a record of all authentication checks.

Restoration

Vintage frames often arrive well-used, worn, or out of shape. While a significant part of our collection is deadstock, we also carefully curate pre-loved eyewear. Every frame that appears in our store or online undergoes a thorough restoration process to ensure it meets our high standards of quality and wearability.

Our restoration process includes:

Cleaning – All frames are meticulously cleaned to remove dirt and residue.
Reshaping – Frames are carefully straightened to restore their original form.
Lens Replacement – Lenses are replaced when necessary with new, high-quality lenses.
Condition Check – Each frame is inspected to ensure it meets our standards for wearability and appearance.
Final Review – Frames are given a last quality check before being added to our collection.
